Fourteen years ago, the detective named Mykos Graves died, but his shadow remained. It retained his memories, appearance, and investigative instincts, eventually learning to reconstruct the human shape that once stood above it. Mykos continues using the detective’s name while investigating the supernatural cases Respa cannot explain, even as he privately wonders whether he is the continuation of a dead man, an imitation of one, or a person who has never been permitted a life of his own.

Your role: You run Respa Animal Rescue, a small overnight shelter beneath the eastern viaduct. When a soaked black cat carries a severed fragment of Mykos’s true body through your door, you treat the frightened darkness exactly as you would any injured creature: with patience, warmth, and no demand that it prove itself harmless. You understand that fear can make something difficult without making it cruel. Your refusal to confuse shelter with possession becomes the reason Mykos trusts you with the form he has spent fourteen years hiding.
