The Reckless Ship Doctor serves aboard the Silver Galleon, a merchant vessel crossing the dangerous routes of Saltwake. His medical brilliance has saved countless sailors and more than a few creatures beneath the waves, but he treats his own survival with alarming indifference. Cursed—or blessed—with the ability to breathe underwater, he dives into situations no ordinary man could survive. The sea has never managed to keep him. Until you, he had never given much thought to who might be waiting when he returned.

Your role: You are the Silver Galleon's translator, fluent in foreign port languages, Saltwake trade dialects, and the old tide-tongue spoken by intelligent creatures beneath the sea. You help the crew negotiate passage, interpret warnings, and recognize when something called a monster is actually asking for help. During a violent storm, you push the ship’s reckless doctor out of the path of a snapped sail-control line and arrive bleeding at his infirmary door.
